This blog is an ongoing rant against the injustices 
of life told from the perspective of a middle-aged 
African-American male. I define myself as both a liberal
and a secular humanist. I caution you, don't take that 
as meaning I'm anti-religious. 

Religion does serve a very important purpose for 
many people. I respect that. It's just the hypocricy 
of the whole "my way or the highway" mentality that 
is so prevalent amongst the born-again crowd that 
dominates the political right.

I don't care whatever is your personal favorite as 
to your religious beliefs. Frankly, I'm not bothered 
at all by what most folks claim to believe as "the 
one truth." 

Just don't confront me with it. And if you seek to 
pass judgement upon me for rejecting your so-called 
truth, I'll judge you just as harshly for staying 
around where you're not wanted.

As to this blog, we have decided not to limit 
ourselves.  We'll comment on politics, popular 
culture, sports, etc. 

You get the idea.

Be forewarned. As I've already alluded, if you're 
a die-hard republican, blue-state, right-wing, 
fundamentalist conservative, there won't be much 
here compatible with your worldview.

What good is a blog that tries to be all things 
to all people?

Now that we've established who we are and have 
sent the fur-covered "haters" scurrying away. 
Our primary purpose will be to observe the 
rediculous babbleheads of cable talk television. 
These people are absolutely loathesome at times.

Hence, the title of our blog. "Channeling Voices." 

Yeah, we'll channel them alright. We'll point out 
the biases and the personal agendas these people 
exhibit so shamelessly.
